Amy Van Dyken-Rouen will be delivering the keynote speech at the 2018 Colorado Venture Summit, which will bring together over 60 tech CEOs and 70 venture capitalists for the annual event. Amy is a 6-time Olympic gold medalist. She won 4 gold medals in 1996 in Atlanta and two more in Sydney, Australia in 2000. Van Dyken-Rouen has the distinction of being one of the few Olympians whose medals are all gold. In 2007, she was the only American swimmer to be inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame’s Class of 2007. She was also inducted to the Olympic Hall of Fame in July 2008.
In June of 2014, Amy was injured in an ATV accident and severed her spinal cord. She has since battled back from her below-the-waist paralysis.
“We’re thrilled to have Amy bring her unique experience to the Colorado Venture Summit this year,” said Jody Shepherd, Co-Chair of the Summit and Managing Director at Service Provider Capital. “Her journey to Olympic gold and inspirational story of triumph after her ATV accident bring a unique perspective to the summit”.
The Colorado Venture Summit will take place June 7th and 8th in Denver, Colorado at Coors Field and other locations in the downtown area. The main event kicks off on June 7th at Coors Field, and is followed by a networking dinner for main event attendees at ViewHouse Eatery. After dinner, the evening party, which is open to all all Founders/CEOs of technology companies at all stages of investment, angel investors, as well as all main event and dinner attendees, will conclude day 1 of the summit.
June 8th will provide in-depth meetings at various Denver offices between VC and Founders/CEOs.
“Tens of millions of dollars of investments have been made in tech companies as a result of connections made at the Summit”, said David Gold Co-Chair of the Summit and Managing Director at Access Venture Partners. “We hope that this year’s summit will provide even more investment opportunities”.
